Southbound
- Exit I-5 at exit number 256 (Market St. exit)
- Take Market St. West (city center)
- Turn left on Winter St.
- The State Library is at 250 Winter St. NE between
Chemeketa and Court Streets.
Northbound
- Exit I-5 at exit number 253 (Salem-Stayton exit)
- Take Highway 22 West (city center)
- Within city limits, this becomes Mission St.
- Follow until you take an offramp to the right
at exit marked Willamette University/ City Center
- Stay in right hand lane ( sign says State Offices)
- Turn left on Court St. (third traffic light)
- State Library is on right hand side of the street,
across from the State Capitol
Parking
- Winter Street - 2hr and 10 hr parking meters. Ten hour meters are either gold or orange
on top. The current meter rate is $.25 for 23 minutes.
- Court Street - 10 hr meters on south side past the Capitol.
- Cottage Street (first left past capitol) - 10 hr meters on east side.
- Yellow Lot (Winter St. and Center St. 2 blocks north of the State Library) - All day parking for $6.00/day
- All day parking passes - Sold in the State Capitol, Room 49, for $7.00 and are good at the City Parking Meters
on the streets listed on the back of the pass.
- Underground parking structure (W via Chemeketa and Winter, E via Chemeketa and Capitol) - 10 hr meters, quarters accepted.
Oregon State Library
- Enter from Winter St, through corridor to main lobby, or Capitol Mall entrance directly into main lobby.
- Conference rooms 102 & 103 are off the main lobby.
- Library Development Services is located on the south end of the first floor.
- Talking Book and Braille Service is located on the north end of the first floor.
- The public reference room, Administrative offices and GRS (Government Research Services) staff offices are located on the 2nd floor via the elevator or stairs
Cherriots Bus Service available within city of Salem. Main Bus terminal
is located at High and Chemeketa St (just two blocks west of the State
